TRURO, N.S. – The Mi’kmaq Warriors junior A lacrosse team has been busy lately with player transactions.

The Warriors obtained six players – Matt Wilson, Jordon Whitford, Logan Whitford, Zach Whitford, Lewis Jarvie and Robbie Dowell – at the East Coast Junior Lacrosse League’s dispersal draft for the Halifax Northwest Lions. The Lions announced last month they are taking a leave of absence from the league.

This week, the Warriors sent Wilson to the Sackville Sportwheels Wolves in exchange for Oliver Dickson, Luke Staples, Mike Foster and Mitchell Wiswell.

The Warriors also made an off-season deal with the Dartmouth Bandits by acquiring the playing rights to Antoine Ramia in exchange for a 2019 Maritime University Lacrosse League second-round draft pick.

The Warriors opened training camp last weekend. They will host a Spring Jam tournament April 28 at the Colchester Legion Stadium. The regular season opens in early May.
