Truro's Pinkney in good shape heading into final preliminary game

WHITE ROCK, B.C. – Colleen Pinkney’s Truro rink enters action on Thursday at the Canadian masters women’s curling championship near the top of the leaderboard.

The local foursome sits at 3-1, tied for second place in Pool A with Manitoba. Saskatchewan’s Delores Syrota leads the way with a 4-0 record.

Nova Scotia, which also includes third Marg Cutcliffe, second Karen Hennigar and lead Susan Creelman, meets Manitoba Thursday in its final preliminary game.

On Wednesday, Pinkney was edged 4-3 by Saskatchewan in a back-and-forth battle. On Tuesday evening, Nova Scotia downed P.E.I. 7-4.

In men’s action, the Nova Scotia team skipped by Gregory Hicks has a record of 2-3 heading into his final preliminary game against B.C. Thursday.
