McIsaac stars in win over Norway

LILLEHAMMER, Norway - Jared McIsaac led the attack on Thursday as Team Canada stomped out the host team and finished atop the standings.

McIsaac, a Truro native, scored a shorthanded goal and added two assists during Canada's 6-0 win. The victory vaulted them past the Russians and Americans and into top spot as the Youth Olympic Winter Games come to a close.

Canada froze out their opponents, piling on 37 shots while Norway could muster only two pucks on goal. Their first shot didn't come until midway through the second period.

The Yanks handed the Canadians a best-case scenario by defeating Russia by a 4-2 score, knocking Russia down from top spot. With the top seed, Canada will face Finland in Friday's semifinal game at 12 p.m. Atlantic time.
