The tournament, set to take place in Cornwall, Ont., Nov. 14-16, will feature two MHL entries, one representing players of the Eastlink North Division and the other, players of the Eastlink South Division.
For the South, Truro Bearcats Shawn Evans is on the coaching staff and three players – netminder Jason Rioux, defenceman Riley Baggs and forward Brandon Hughes – were named to the team.
MHL President Brian Whitehead looks forward to seeing the league showcase its talents at the tournament.
“This region is home to countless talented people within the game,” Whitehead said. “It’s our privilege to present this chance to a few of these players and coaches as well as continue to show to people throughout the hockey world the talent that exists in the MHL.”
This is the MHL’s second appearance in the Eastern Canada Cup. The league sent one team to the event in 2015.
