Lanceleve, a third-year forward, is thrilled to be wearing the ‘C’ for Weeks.

“I was very excited to be awarded captain of this team, with a first class organization, with the history and pride this team has, it was a true honour to be named captain,” said Lanceleve, who collected 54 points last season (16G, 38A).

“Something I've strived for my entire hockey career is to be captain. I'm very excited to be a part of this team, and we have a lot of potential to be a great team.”

Lanceleve is one of seven Colchester County players on the Weeks’ roster. Others are goaltender Ben Gibbon (Truro), defencemen Hunter Martin (Millbrook) and Callum Bouma (Lower Truro), and forwards Ben Fraser (Pleasant Valley) and assistant captain Rowan Sears (Brookfield).

Weeks plays its home opener in the Nova Scotia Major Midget AAA Hockey League tonight against the Cole Harbour Wolfpack at the Pictou County Wellness Centre at 6:30 p.m.

In a 3-2 overtime loss to Halifax McDonalds on Wednesday, Lanceleve and Mason Hawley scored for Weeks.
