BROOKFIELD, N.S. – The Brookfield Elks let a two-goal lead in the third period slip away in a 5-4 loss to the Liverpool Privateers in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League on Thursday.

The Elks led 4-2 after 40 minutes, however, the Privateers scored three goals before the five-minute mark of the third to come away with victory at the Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex.

Caelan Blaikie netted a pair of goals for the Elks, while Mikey Willis added a goal and an assist and Riley Scott fired a single marker.

Liverpool’s Jaron Bollivar scored the winner at 4:36 of the final period on a power play. Travis Parks, with two, Michael Anthony and Alex Nauss had other goals for the Privateers.

Liverpool outshot Brookfield 46-37.

The Elks next action is Thursday when they host the rival East Hants Penguins for a 7:30 p.m. start at the sportsplex.
