BROOKFIELD, N.S. – The Brookfield Elks snapped a 10-game Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League losing streak on Thursday.

The Elks picked up their first win since Oct. 20 by shading the Sackville Blazers 3-2 at the Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex.

The Elks got a goal from Jagger Statton with 3:50 left in the period, and tied it on a Chad Tucker marker with 1:02 remaining.

Defenceman Liam Giffen scored the winner with 34 ticks left in the period.

Elks goaltender Landon Campbell made 16 saves for the win, while his teammates fired 26 shots at Brendan Hirtle.
