CEC relay teams reach podium at provincials

Intermediate girls lead the way with gold-medal performance

TRURO, N.S. – Cobequid Educational Centre relay teams were successful at last weekend’s Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation track and field championship.

Six CEC relay squads reached the podium during the two-day event in Sydney.

The intermediate 4x100m girls team of Mykaela Sherry, Oula Maguire, Martina King and Leah Adams led the way by capturing gold. The intermediate boys team consisting of Torro Gabrielli, Jonah Rathgeber, Tobi Oshikoya and Braden Gray nabbed silver.

In the senior division, Sidney Kharma, Erin McCavour, Baillie Lynds and Mira Alexander won silver in the 4x100m, while senior boys team of Ian Wheeler, Dean Berry, Cam Degroot and Brody Schmidt was third.

CEC 4x400m senior teams also enjoyed success, as Mira Alexander, Baillie Lynds, Maddie Greatorex and Olivia Stevenson took home bronze, while Dean Berry, Connor Grant, Brody Schmidt and Jacob Spencer nailed down silver medals.
