The Bearcats and starting pitcher Craig Higgins were thumped in the first inning, as the Wildcats scored an astounding nine runs in the first frame.

John Chapman came on in relief in the first inning and the Bearcats steadied the ship soon after. The damage was already done, however.

Guy Pellerine would hit a solo shot in the fourth inning, accounting for the Bearcats lone run.

For the Wildcats, Colby Turple had a double, two singles and two RBI; David McIntyre had four singles and one RBI; Kyle Dougan had two singles and an RBI and Jason Pleasant-Sampson had two singles.

On the other side, Pellerine had a double and a single to go along with his home run, while Adam Lombard had three singles.

The Bearcats are back in action Sunday with a doubleheader in Halifax against the league-best Canadians. They return to TAAC Grounds on Tuesday for a third straight game against the Halifax club.
