Atom A Bearcats win league title

The Truro Inglis Jewellers Bearcats atom A team captured the Fundy Highland league crown after rolling through the league playoff tournament with a 5-0 record. TRURO, N.S. – The Truro Inglis Jewellers Bearcats skated to a 5-0 record and doubled the Tatamagouche Titans 4-2 in the final to capture the Fundy-Highland region atom A hockey title.

In the round-robin, the Bearcats defeated Antigonish 12-0, Brookfield 7-1, Pictou County 5-0 and Tatamagouche 4-0.

The Bearcats enjoyed a highly successful season, and posted a record of 22-1-1 in regular season league play under the guidance of head coach Greg Cream, assistants Clinton Harvey, Brian Dennis, Darson Murphy and trainer Shawn Wolfe.

The Bearcats travel to Cape Breton Saturday to face the Cape Breton County Islanders in Coxheath. The winner of that game will advance to the Day of Champions at the RECC in Truro in early April.
