Sea Dogs filling in for Screaming Eagles for exhibition game in Truro

The Halifax Mooseheads and Saint John Sea Dogs will face off in a QMJHL exhibition game on Aug. 23 at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro.

TRURO – The Saint John Sea Dogs will fill in for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles during a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League exhibition game in Truro next month.

The Screaming Eagles were scheduled to play against the Halifax Mooseheads in the Aug. 23 pre-season tilt at the Rath Eastlink Communty Centre.

However, Cape Breton will instead travel to Ufa, Russia to represent the Canadian Hockey League at the Junior Club World Cup from Aug. 22 to 30.

It’s expected the Sea Dogs will have defenceman Luke Green in their lineup for the exhibition tilt. Green, of Hammonds Plains, was selected first overall by the Sea Dogs in May’s entry draft.
