SUMMERSIDE – The Truro Bearcats completed a Maritime Junior Hockey League sweep of the Summerside Western Capitals on Sunday afternoon.

Tyler Morrison and Jacob Smith each potted a pair of goals as the Bearcats skated to a 7-4 victory before 633 fans at Summerside’s Eastlink Arena.
The victory came a 3-0 triumph over the Capitals on Saturday night at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro and also snapped a two-game losing skid.
On Sunday, the Bearcats jumped out to a 3-0 second-period lead en route to victory. Smith scored at 1:07 of the third period and again just over a minute later to put the contest out of reach.
Colby Lanceleve, Cal Gloade and Mitchell Robillard scored other goals for the Bearcats (7-2-1 W-L-SOL). J.P. Harvey, Jordan Buchanan, Caven Fitzgerald and Zen Hakil replied for the Capitals.
Jacob Fancy made 15 saves for his second straight win, while the Bearcats fired 30 shots at Summerside goaltender Alex Kelly.
On Saturday, Fancy stopped all 22 shots directed his way to backstop the Bearcats to the shutout victory in front of a crowd of 592.
Phillip Fife led the offense with a pair of goals and Robillard the other marker.
The Bearcats return to action on Friday when they host the Miramichi Timberwolves. On Saturday Truro hosts the Bridgewater Lumberjacks.
