Cougle, Brian Francis “Barney”, 72 of Truro, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, he was a son of the late Donald and Annie (Mahaney) Cougle. Brian was a retired businessman from Calgary who had a wicked sense of humour. He went through life with only a right eye and never ever complained. He was educated at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta. Brian was an inventor and was an avid environmentalist. He is survived by sons Bradley, Derek, and Bonny, the mother of his sons, of Alberta; brother David (late Cristina) of Washington, DC, a twin brother, Bryant (Susan) of Ontario; sisters, Audrey Cougle of British Columbia, Kathy Nesrallah (late Ron) of Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where funeral service will take place on Monday, May 28th at 2 pm. Reverend Valerie Kingsbury will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. No visitation by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
