Teenage girl charged with assaulting several people in Halifax

Investigators with the Halifax Regional Police's sexual assault investigation team of the integrated criminal investigation Division have charged a 76-year-old man in relation to a historical sexual assault that occurred in Halifax in the 1980s.

HALIFAX, NS

Halifax Regional Police received numerous calls about an assault on Spring Garden Road around 9 p.m. on Nov. 21.

An intoxicated 16-year-old female, without provocation, randomly assaulted three females and a male. Several police officers responded and arrested the suspect, who resisted arrest and spit in an officer’s face. None of the victims were seriously injured, but one victim attended hospital for a bloody nose.

The suspect was charged with four counts of assault, resisting arrest, and assaulting police. She was already on two court orders and will also be charged with breach of her condition of no alcohol.
