A convicted sex offender is back behind bars, charged with violating a prohibition order by going to a Halifax school.

Halifax Regional Police allege that Thomas Anthony Eisan, 30, visited Oxford School on Sept. 22 and again last week.

Eisan was arrested on the weekend and charged with two counts of breaching a June 2014 court order that banned him from attending parks, playgrounds, schools and other places where children can reasonably be expected to be present.

He also faces two charges of breaching a May 2017 probation order by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Eisan was scheduled to have a bail hearing Monday in Halifax provincial court but instead consented to remain in custody until his next appearance in mid-November.

According to court documents, Eisan also goes by the name Menachem Ira Siodmak. His most recent address is on Creighton Street in Halifax.

Oxford School is located at 6364 North St. and has 421 students in grades Primary to 9.

“The school received an anonymous tip last Friday that the person in question was in violation of (his conditions) by being on school property,” Doug Hadley, spokesman for the Halifax Regional School Board, told The Chronicle Herald on Wednesday.

“Given the seriousness of the allegation, the principal shared this information with the school liaison officer immediately. With the information being verified and a charge laid, the school shared information with parents/guardians on Wednesday afternoon.”

In 2013, Eisan was working as a nanny for a Halifax family when he was caught with more than 100 explicit images of child pornography.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of child pornography and was sentenced in June 2014 to a year in jail. He was also fined $500 for careless storage of a semi-automatic assault rifle that police found under his bed.

Eisan has three convictions for sexual assault, including one from May of this year, and single convictions for sexual interference, assault and failing to comply with an order to register as a sex offender.
