Man charged after Dartmouth convenience stored robbed at knifepoint



A 19-year-old man, who is known to police, was charged with robbery and two counts of breach of a recognizance in connection with a convenience store robbery.

At 9:12 p.m. on January 1, police responded to the Needs Convenience store at Baker Drive, where a lone female employee reported that a male had entered the store wearing a mask while holding a knife and demanding cash and cigarettes. The employee was not injured and the suspect fled with cash and cigarettes.

Halifax Regional Police K-9 unit and patrol members set up containment and at 9:35 p.m., a man was arrested outside a residence on Morningfield Lane.
