Kings District RCMP had to arrest one of their own last month for impairment.
AUBURN, N.S. - On Christmas Eve, Kings District RCMP pulled over one of their own.
According to a Jan. 9 media release, police stopped an off-duty member of the RCMP in a vehicle on Highway 101 in Auburn, Kings County, Dec. 24, 2016.
“On Jan. 4, Cpl. Scott MacMillan was charged with impaired driving and refusing a breath demand,” the release said.
The RCMP statement said the 26-year veteran, currently assigned to the Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit, was released from custody the same day.
“Cpl. MacMillan is currently on administrative leave,” the release said. “An internal Code of Conduct investigation is underway in relation to Cpl. MacMillan's conduct.”
MacMillan is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on Valentine’s Day.
