Two Truro doctors hope the information they share at an upcoming presentation will help save lives.

On Tuesday, October 9, from 4 to 5 p.m., Dr. Masis Perk and Dr. Kris Srivatsa will be in the Millbrook Room of the Rath-Eastlink Community Centre to speak about atrial fibrillation.

The doctors will explain what atrial fibrillation is, how it takes place, what harm is can cause, and how it’s treated. Participants will be shown how to check and count their pulse.

Atrial fibrillation is sometimes described as erratic rhythm and fluttering of the heart. With the condition, chambers are not beating in harmony and blood clots can form and travel to the brain, causing strokes.

The presentation is open to those who have atrial fibrillation and those who just want to be informed.

Pre-registration is required before October 1, and seating is limited. To register, call Debbie Crawford at 902-893-5554, extension 42223.
