Agropur Cooperative paid tribute to its members who recorded the best milk quality results during a gala in Quebec earlier this month. At the end of the competition, 17 new regional champions were inducted into the Club of Excellence for their outstanding performance among the cooperative’s membership in Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Suidgeest grew up on a dairy farm, the same farm he now owns and operates. His herd consists of approximately 60 Holsteins. Suidgeest is president of his local district of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, and is actively involved in agricultural awareness and literacy programs in the province.

Following the merger with Farmers Dairy in 2013, Suidgeest joined Agropur.

The Club of Excellence promotes best management practices for milk quality by producers, and has welcomed more than 1,900 award winners into its ranks since it was first created. Club of Excellence membership marks the culmination of a rigorous selection process among the cooperative members with the best results.
