Peter Fahey, president and CEO of PFI International, a company that invests in solid asset-based businesses, recently made a $10,000 contribution to the United Way of Colchester’s 2014 Campaign.

Fahey attended the Inglis Jewellers “Good Buys” fundraiser for the United Way. As the crowd was enjoying news that $10,000 was donated by Inglis Jewellers, Fahey agreed to match the donation.

“Greg (Johnston) and I have known Peter for a long time,” said Paul Clark, campaign co-chairman. “Over the years he has always stepped up publicly and privately to help out when needed. We couldn't think of a better cause than the United Way of Colchester.”

Terry Hearn, executive director of the United Way, was thrilled to receive the funding.

“The people of Colchester are very giving and charitable,” she said. “They rally behind many different causes. This donation will give us more opportunities to help many more people in our community. Everyone at the United Way is very grateful for the support of Peter Fahey and PFI International.”

While the United Way of Colchester’s official campaign period ended Nov. 30, several workplaces are finishing up their campaigns and results will be tallied over the next few weeks. Campaign results will be announced in the New Year.

Individuals and businesses can still give toward this year’s campaign goal of $250,000. To help make a difference in people’s lives in Colchester, contact the United Way office at 902 895-9313, email [email protected] or visit their website www.colchester.unitedway.ca and select the “Donate Now” button.
