A man, woman, two children and a cat lost almost everything when a fire broke out in a home they were renting on Birch Street. They didn’t have the contents insured.

The Canadian Red Cross was able to provide emergency lodging for three nights but the family is now looking for a place to rent.

Quite a few items of clothing have already been provided for the boys, who are six and 10 years old, but the adults have very little. The woman wears a size small and the man, because he is tall, usually buys size large. Other items that would be appreciated include household furnishings, dishes, pots and pans, bedding, small appliances, personal hygiene supplies, toys for the children or cat, kitty litter and healthy foods. Gift cards make an excellent gift for anyone who wishes to help but doesn’t know what is most needed.
