MILLBROOK – A 30-year-old Millbrook man has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery that allegedly occurred on Willow Street Saturday night but was not reported until Sunday evening.
“There was definitely a delay in the reporting,” Millbrook RCMP Cpl. De-Anne Sack told the Truro Daily News.
“I have no explanation why… .”
Brian Dean Martin is currently in custody after being arrested without incident, Sack said.
Martin is facing several criminal code charges including attempted robbery, wearing a disguise during the offence and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
The arrest came in connection to an incident that Sack said occurred around 11:30 p.m. Saturday at a gaming establishment on Willow Street in Millbrook. She said police were contacted about the incident at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday.
A preliminary investigation has determined that a lone man, wearing black clothing and a motorcycle helmet, entered the business and produced a knife. He then demanded money but after a short conversation with the clerk, the suspect exited the business without money, Sack said.
Martin was scheduled to appear in provincial court Tuesday in Truro for a bail hearing.
