Donations are pouring in for a former Truro resident who was recently attacked in North Sydney.

Shawn Curtis Jack was discovered with major injuries after being severely beaten near a North Sydney grocery store in July.

Media reports indicate a number of people have raised about $22,000 for him through an online fundraising campaign. More fundraisers are planned as well.

A family member plans to travel to Cape Breton later this month to visit Jack's dog and to meet and thank some of the people who've supported him in Cape Breton.
