Truro man jailed for assault, threats and drug possession

TRURO – A Truro man convicted of threatening to “wound, maim, disfigure or endanger the life” of another man was sentenced in provincial court on Friday to 46 months in jail.

William Joseph O’Brien (aka Henwood), 37, of 282 James St., was also convicted of assaulting another man and uttering threats to five other individuals, possessing marijuana and possessing a weapon (garden shears) for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.

O’Brien/Henwood was given credit for 23 months time served in remand while awaiting sentencing.

He was further banned from possessing firearms for 10 years and was given a lifetime ban on possessing prohibited weapons.
