Support for Truro elementary school's natural playground

Published on June 13, 2014

The Sobeys Debert Retail Support Centre recently donated $500 to the Truro Elementary School Parent Teacher Group in memory of Kelly Stewart, an educational assistant at the school who unexpectedly passed away recently.

The donation is to help with purchasing a piece of equipment for the natural playground the group has been working toward. On hand for a presentation were, from left, principal Michael Price, training and occupational health and safety co-ordinator Tim Cosh, Falesha Eagles, the vice-president of the parent teacher group, and the school’s vice-principal Heather Bishop-Amero. This Saturday will see a Family Carnival day, where $5 can purchase an activity card, giving one turn at each activity including a bouncy slide, Discovery Centre, archery, popcorn, face painting and more. The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school. Submitted photo
