Christmas tree collection begins Monday in Truro

TRURO – The Town of Truro will offer curbside Christmas tree collection for one week, beginning on Monday.

According to a Town of Truro newsletter, from Jan. 6 to 10 real trees will be collected by the town. All trees left out for collection must be free of lights, tinsel, ornaments, stands and tree bags must be removed to ensure collection. Trees that are buried beneath snow may be missed for pickup.

Residents must place trees behind the sidewalk to prevent interfering with street and sidewalk plow as well as pedestrian traffic. Trees can be set outside no earlier than Sunday to ensure they are picked up next week.

For those who want to keep their real Christmas tree up past the collection period, they can take their natural trees to Nova Tree Company on Willow Lane in Truro between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. There is no disposal fee and trees must be free of all decorations and related items.
