TATAMAGOUCHE – It will be an afternoon of Scottish music later this month when the Caledonian Orchestra performs at the Balmoral Kirk.

The orchestra, which is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of traditional Scottish music, is set to perform at 2:30 p.m. on June 29. This is the 20th anniversary of the orchestra’s incorporation.

Under the direction of Nelson Ferguson, the orchestra features 30 musicians, including violinists, flutists, accordions, cello, bass, keyboard, and drums. The orchestra’s repertoire consists of lively marches, strathspeys, jogs, reels, slow airs, and waltzes.

Over the years, the orchestra has performed at various venues throughout the Maritimes and Ontario, all while releasing three albums – Sweet Journeys, Take the Floor, and Castle Sween.

Tickets for the concert are $15 and are available at the door.
