School memories weekend being held in Tatamagouche


If you’re a former student of North Colchester High or Tatamagouche Elementary you’re being invited to dig out your memories and bring them along to a special weekend.

June 30-July 2 is School Memories Weekend in the village and there are many special events that will allow people to say farewell to the schools before they’re replaced by Tatamagouche Regional Academy.



The schedule includes:

June 29: Fireworks at dusk at Nelson Park


June 30: 5-7 p.m. – Barbecue at the Royal Canadian Legion

7-9 p.m. – Meet and greet/wine and cheese at NCHS

9 p.m.-1 a.m. – Kitchen party at the Grace Jollymore Arts Centre- free will donation at the door- For advance tickets email .  To participate as talent in the kitchen party, text Larry Hunt at 902-897-8610 or send an email to  .


July 1:

9 a.m. – Yoga in the community field

9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Ford Drive One at NCHS- test a care and Ford donates to the new school

8 a.m.-3 p.m. – Creamery Square Canada Day- music, children’s activities, good

2-4 p.m. – open house at both schools and a chance to walk through the new school

9 p.m.-1 a.m. - ‘One Last Dance’ at North Colchester High School - Music by J.D. Clarke and the Timepieces. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased at C.G. Fulton Pharmacy, Forbes Bros. The Store (North River), and by email transfer to . Tickets at the door are $15.


July 2

9 a.m. – Yoga at Patterson Wharf

11 a.m.- Church service at Sharon United
