Truro area residents put their voting power to work again, earning the Civic Square a Peoples Choice Award in the ‘Great Places in Canada’ contest.

The Civic Square was one of 11 nominees in the Great Public Space’ category, which allowed people to vote for their favourite nominee from Oct. 11-27.

Its something we can be proud of, said Jason Fox, director of planning and development for the town. Its recognition for the community on a national scale.

The Civic Square has certainly changed the air downtown. There a positive vibe with a lot of things going on.

This is the first time Truro has been nominated in the ‘Great Places in Canada’ contest, which is a program of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
