Canada Day in Colchester County

There will be many ways to show your patriotic spirit in Colchester County on Canada Day. Here’s a list of some events, but there will be several updates on www.trurodaily.com.

Fun day

JULY 1 – Masstown Community Park, 1 to 3 p.m. Music, games, face painting, food. Bring a lawn chair. Event will be postponed until Natal day if it rains. 

 

Supper

JULY 1 – Balfron annual supper for charity, 4 to 6 p.m., Balfron Hall, Highway 311, Balfron, cost $10 adults, $4 children.

 

Victoria Park celebration

JULY 1 – Hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, activities begin at 12:30 p.m., opening ceremonies at 1 p.m. at the band shell and continue throughout the day until 4 p.m. Music by Legion Pipes and Drums, Truro Concert Band and other traditional and contemporary artists. Face painting for children, freezies, games, organized by the Truro Boys and Girls Club. Junior and senior tennis tournament, legion will host an onsite canteen, Victoria Park pool open.

 

Fireworks

JULY 1 – Colchester Legion Stadium, 10 p.m., sponsored by Downtown Truro Partnership.

 

Parade

JULY 1 – Bible Hill, entries are asked to arrive at St. David’s Avenue by 9:30 a.m., parade starts at 10:30 a.m. Theme is Celebrating History, Culture and Pride.

 

Celebration

JULY 1 – Bible Hill, 12:30 to 4 p.m., Bible Hill Recreation Park, Guest Drive.
