CBC-TV scores Maple Leaf Gardens as venue for "Battle of the Blades" series

TORONTO - CBC-TV has scored Maple Leaf Gardens for its upcoming reality series, "Battle of the Blades."
The public broadcaster has confirmed it will broadcast each episode of the fall show at storied venue, which was home to the Leafs until they moved to the Air Canada Centre a decade ago.
"Battle of the Blades," debuting Oct. 4, is a seven-week competition between former world-class female figure skaters and NHL players.
Producers say performances will take place on Sundays at the Gardens and the elimination episodes will unfold there on Mondays.
Ticket information has yet to be announced.
What has been revealed is a new competitor for the show: Four-time Stanley Cup champion Claude Lemieux.
The Buckingham, Que., native replaces Sean Burke, who withdrew from the show "due to professional obligations."
Other NHLers on the roster include Glenn Anderson, Tie Domi, Bob Probert, Ken Daneyko and Ron Duguay.
Figure skaters in the lineup include Jamie Sale, Shae-Lynn Bourne, Isabelle Brasseur, Barbara Underhill, Marie-France Dubreuil, Christine Hough-Sweeney, Jodeyne Higgins and Kristina Lenko.
Hosting is "Hockey Night in Canada"'s Ron MacLean and figure skating champ Kurt Browning.
