Blaauwendraat, Dunlap finish in middle at national superbike race

MOSPORT, Ont. - Colchester County's racers finished mid-pack on the weekend in Rounds 4 and 5 of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship at Mosport International Raceway in Mosport, Ont.
Beaver Brook's Brian Blaauwendraat crossed the line 14th in Round 5's Yoshimura Pro Sport Bike race Sunday, while Valley's Andrew Dunlap was 19th.
Dunlap, on his Fundy Powersports Kawasaki, dropped out of Sunday's Parts Canada Superbike Championship race after 12 laps. Blaauwendraat did not start the event.
Blaauwendraat and his Pro Cycle Honda finished 15th in Round 4 of the Yoshimura Pro Sport Bike race Saturday with Dunlap coming home 17th. Neither rider started Saturday's rain-shortened superbike event.
Suzuki's Brett McCormick won Saturday's sport bike race with Kawasaki's Jordan Szoke taking the three other checkered flags up for grabs and moving to the top of the superbike series points standings.
The series' next stop is Atlantic Motorsport Park Aug. 6 to 9.
