OTTAWA – Jared Goad’s luggage was a little heavier coming home this week, after the Bible Hill native grabbed four silver medals at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Ottawa.

Goad placed second in open tumbling, open trampoline, open double mini-trampoline and picked up a silver in the trampoline team competition. Also on the silver-winning team was Truro’s Jeff Ramsay.

The two locals were among a crew of Nova Scotians who brought home 15 medals from the national event. The province had 34 athletes compete in the week-long event in women’s gymnastics, men’s artistic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling. Goad led the Nova Scotian contingent with four medals.
