Carleton Place picks up win at Fred Page Cup

ST. JEROME, QUE. – The Carleton Place Canadians opened the Fred Page Cup with a 6-4 victory over the host St. Jerome Panthers on Wednesday night.

The Canadians are in first place in the standings with three points. The Truro Bearcats have two points after a 5-4 overtime win on Wednesday against the Granby Inouk.

Truro meets St. Jerome Thursday at 8:30 p.m., while Carleton Place faces off against Granby at 5 p.m.

The round-robin portion of the four-team tournament concludes on Friday. The first-place team earns a bye to Sunday’s final, while the second- and third-place teams will meet in a semifinal on Saturday.

The winner of the Fred Page Cup will advance to the RBC Cup May 10 to 18 in Venon, B.C.
