Bearcats drop two games at midget AA championship

TRURO – The Truro Bearcats dropped a pair of games on Friday at the Nova Scotia midget AA hockey championship.

The Bearcats lost 5-2 to the East Hants Penguins in their opener and dropped a 6-3 decision to the Bedford Blues in their second contest at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre.

East Hants and Bedford are 2-0. The Penguins defeated Antigonish 2-1, while the Blues blanked Sackville 6-0.

Antigonish and Sackville played the late game Friday.

Truro faces Antigonish Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and meets Sackville at 12:30 p.m.

Sunday’s final is slated for 11 a.m. at the RECC.
