Duffy's late marker lifts Soft Touch to playoff victory

DEBERT - Jay Duffy's second goal of the game with 2:29 remaining lifted Soft Touch Car Wash to a 3-2 win over Car Star Collision in Labatt West Colchester Commercial Hockey League playoff action on Thursday.

Soft Touch leads the best-of-five semifinal series 2-0.

Louie Smith scored the other goal for Soft Touch, while Morgan MacDonald and Brad Fisher replied for Car Star.

Game 3 is Sunday at 8 p.m. at the West Colchester United Arena.

In the other semifinal, Patrick Stewart scored two goals and assisted on another as Gutter Done Thunder downed Hub Well Drilling 5-2 to even that series at one game apiece.

James Rutherford, Kevin LeBlanc and Josh Kennedy netted other markers for the winners, while Brandon O'Brien had both tallies for Hub Well Drilling.

Game 3 will be played on Sunday at 9 p.m. in Debert.
