McLellan's staves off elimination with commercial league win

DEBERT - McLellan's Machine Shop stayed alive in the Labatt West Colchester Commercial Hockey League playoffs recently with a 5-3 victory over Hub Well Drilling.

The result cut Hub Well Drilling's lead in the best-of-five affair to 2-1.

Nick Hodgson recorded a hat trick for the winners with Brandon MacLean and Ryan Bates rounding out the scoring. Matt Stone picked up a pair of assists and Robbie Rushton was the winning goaltender.

Brian Shreenan, Pat Rushton and Matt MacKay responded for Hub Well Drilling. Catlin Staples supplied a pair of helpers while Rushton added one.

In other action, Halliday's Flooring knotted their series with the Gutter Done Thunder 1-1 thanks to a recent 6-4 victory.

Paul Canfield pulled off a hat trick for Halliday's while Sandy Munroe, Jacob Beaton and Mike Ridley also scored. Canfield and Munroe also recorded assists and Mike Gamble chalked up the win.

Mike McCallum tallied twice for Gutter Done with Josh Kennedy and Jason Blois rounding out the scoring.
