TRURO - Philip Fife led the Truro Bearcats in front of 530 fans at home Saturday night in a 7-0 win over the CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks.
Fife picked up a goal annd two assists while Denver Lynds and Kyle Tibbo added two goals each in the win, which brings the Bearcats to 19-7-0-2.
Tibbo opened the scoring at 17:24 to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead after the first period.
Fife scored at 1:43 to extend the lead to 2-0. Lynds scored on the powerplay at 9:24 to increase the lead to 3-0. Mitchell Robillard scored at 18:56 to widen the lead to 4-0 after the second period.
Brandon Pye scored at 1:45 to make the score 5-0. Lynds picked up his second of the game at 3:39 to increase the lead to 6-0. Tibbo's second shot rounded out the scoring at 7:16.
Truro went one for three on the powerplay while Bridgewater went scoreless in five.
Jordan Kennedy stopped all 30 shots he faced for the shutout win while Jeff Arkin (43:39) stopped 33 of 39 shots in the loss before being replaced by Cory Peterson. Peterson (16:21) stopped 9 of 10 shots the rest of the game.
The Bearcats' next game is Thursday when they head on the road to Pictou to face the Weeks Crushers at 7 p.m.
