DEBERT - The West Colchester Cobras went undefeated on their way to a gold medal at the recent Harrison's Tournament in Parrsboro.
The West Colchester Cobras recently won the bantam division of the recent Harrison's Tournament in Parrsboro thanks to a 4-3 win over the Moncton Cougars in the final. The bantam squad nipped the Moncton Cougars 4-3 in the final after blanking Moncton 5-0 and defeating the host Predators 7-3 in the preliminary round.
Brad Cooke scored a pair of goals for the Cobras in the final while Justin McNutt and Sarah Gregory also buried the puck. Austin Gilbert collected a pair of assists and single helpers came from Ryan Miller, Natalie Porter, Alex Weatherby and Brandon MacLeod. Tyler Sheepwash was Game MVP for his efforts in the crease.
Matt Murray, Brent Rushton, Cooke, McNutt and Miller provided the goal scoring in the first meeting with Moncton. Murray skated away with the Game MVP honour.
Against the Predators, Cooke buried a hat trick while McNutt scored a pair goals. Weatherby and Luke Vantol rounded out the scoring and Rushton tallied three assists for Game MVP honours.
