TRURO - The Truro Bearcats will look to even the score with the Miramichi Timberwolves Friday when the teams clash in a Maritime Junior Hockey League contest in Truro.
Bearcats vs. Timberwolves
Puck drop at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre is 7 p.m.
The Timberwolves (14-6-0-2) hold a 2-1 advantage against the Bearcats (16-6-0-2) this season, winning the most recent contest 4-1 last Saturday in New Brunswick.
"They're like a couple of other teams in our league - they are built for this season," said Bearcats coach Shawn Evans. "They've got a good, big, veteran team and a veteran-proven goaltender (Clint Windsor) as well.
"We need to play a whole lot like we did in their rink last Saturday. I wasn't disappointed with our effort, and we need to play with the same intensity and be a little better in a few areas."
Jacob Fancy will start in nets for the Bearcats tonight.
Truro is in Amherst on Saturday for a 7 p.m. start against the rival Ramblers.
Daniel Perigo is expected to return to the lineup this weekend. The forward has been sidelined with a hip/groin injury for the past five weeks.
"The hope is for (tonight)," Evans said of Perigo's return. "And we've missed him. He plays a good, solid 200-foot game. He gives you a little bit of everything out there.
"If he's out there (tonight) I don't expect miracles, but it will certainly be good to have number 25 going up and down the wing."
