Daniel Poliziani is this week's Bearcat-of-the-Week.

The junior veteran scored a goal in the 4-1 win in Campbellton last Friday, but it was his consistent effort each shift which drew more attention. He's a full 200-foot defenceman who demonstrates his hockey smarts each shift. Coming into this week, he's contributed four goals and 16 helpers on the offensive side of his game.

He got his hockey start in Burlington and stayed with the Eagles' program up to the midget level when he opted to play prep school hockey at Appleby College for a three-year span.

A 2009 draft pick by the Guelph Storm (OHL), he's been a member of the team for the past two seasons. Well schooled in all aspects of the defensive game, he brings plenty to the table for the Bearcats. The move to the East Coast has been mutually satisfying.

The Bearcats Teddy Bear Toss is set for next Saturday (Dec. 14).

Purchase a Teddy Bear, put it in a grocery bag, then toss it on the ice when the Bearcats score their first goal. Let's get behind this endeavour to support the Christmas Index program.

Tonight, the Bearcats host the Miramichi Timberwolves. The 7 p.m. game will demonstrate playoff intensity in December.

Tomorrow, the Bearcats are off to Amherst to face the ever-dangerous Ramblers at 7 p.m.
