BIBLE HILL – Dalhousie Rams standout Chris Ross was named Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) men’s badminton player of the year this week.
Ross won the men’s singles title while helping the Rams snag second-place in the team competition on the weekend. He did not lose a singles match in the 2012-2013 competitive season within the ACAA.
The Lower Harmony native will next compete in the CCAA national badminton championships at Georgian College in Barrie, Ont., on Feb. 28.
“Chris is a fierce competitor in all sports, a very talented athlete, an exceptional student and a person we are very proud to have represent Dalhousie Agricultural Campus varsity programs,” said director of athletic services Judy Smith in a news release.
“He is a team leader in all aspects. He assists other team members with skill development, encourages them to compete and practice hard and have fun at the same time.”
Rams badminton coach Richard Bennicke earned ACAA coach of the year honours.
