Pictou County drops pair to Cape Breton West in major midget hockey

TRURO - Pictou County went winless in a pair of weekend major midget hockey contests against the Cape Breton West Islanders.

Pictou was doubled 6-3 in Game 2 after getting nipped 4-3 in overtime in the opener.

The results leave Pictou County (5-11-0-2) seventh in the eight-team league.

Cole Livingstone, Ryan Camp and Cody Johnston did the Pictou County scoring in Game 2 and Truro's Luke Melanson made 30 saves.

Mark Vokey scored a pair of goals in Game 1 with Camp netting the other. Valley's Aaron Coleman chipped in an assist and Tanner Doiron stopped 45 shots.

Bible Hill's Lucas Holman, Debert's Mitchell LeBlanc, Tatamagouche's Jarvis Mattatall and Brady Meech, Lucas Rushton and Michael Stuart all of Truro are also members of the team.
