After viewing the funeral of Const. Dave Ross, Const. Fabrice Georges Gevaudan and Const. Douglas James Larche who were killed in the line of duty, it brought back memories of my service of 20 years in the Canadian armed forces.
The brotherhood shown at the funeral reminded me of the brotherhood in the forces.
It is a feeling that you get that is found nowhere else. The closeness and the feeling you are never alone. There are three such organizations that have this unity.
The armed forces and the police forces are employed by you for protection, but firefighters, although most are unpaid volunteers, are also such a group. Without them, it would be a terrible place
to live. Anytime you see one of these protectors, say ‘thanks.’ They really deserve it.
