Clothing guidelines are needed

I’m a mother of a girl in Grade 8 at Truro Junior High School.

(Re: School board places guidelines on length of shorts, Tuesday, May 13, Truro Daily News.)

I totally agree with the rule. The faculty is trying to protect female students and to teach them to be more concerned in how they present themselves and represent the school. The rule is enforced in the school but outside they can dress the way the parents/teenager desire.

I think our children go to school to learn and cope with the demands of education to be successful in life, but also to learn how they want to be regarded in society.

Rules are rules ... dress code is applicable anywhere kids go to school. School is not a fashion show.
