Through the medium of your paper, I would like to express my appreciation and thanks for the outpouring of support that I have received following the Jan. 22 incident at the Colchester Legion Stadium.
This support has come by the way of the media, telephone messages, and from face-to- face meetings with friends aplenty on the street, at Truro Mall, and at the stadium itself.
I have had calls from Western Canada, Florida, Cape Breton, Halifax, Annapolis Valley and from the local area, all of which has been very uplifting and supportive of my stand that I made.
In particular, I wish to thank my wife Helen and the family for their support throughout this ordeal. I wish to thank Keith MacKenzie for his support and for our good working relationship we enjoyed over the past 11 years, to Gerry Hale and Debbie Brown for their initiatives in support of me. To the 'Flying Father' - Chip Wright - for coming to my aid in the penalty box.
I wish to thank the Truro Daily News for its coverage and support and CKTY and CKTO FM Radio. Thanks to the fellow workers who have stepped down also in support of me.
It was most encouraging to have received calls from former MJAHL coaches Steve Crowell and Vaughn Martin, as well as from Coun. Bob Taylor and Pat Healy of the N.S. Women's Hockey team in Halifax.
In closing, I would like to say that I can hold my head high because I have given 11 years of dedicated, professional-like service to hockey in this area.
To all my many friends, I will never forget your support. May God bless you all.
I remain a friend.
Harold Barkhouse

Harold, do you still think you made the right decision? Do you think you may of blown things up, just a TAD? But you're a good man for standing by your actions, and I respect that.
