It seems our weather has most people either sick with colds and flu, cuddled up at home trying to stay warm or hoping for more snow to go snowmobiling, depending upon the day.

There have been many people in our area who have been ill in hospital or convalescing at home from one ailment or another, whether accident or illness, many thoughts and prayers are being sent your way, I’m sure. Get well soon.

As we think of what we should be doing this time of year as opposed to hibernating for the winter, the skating rink in Five Islands is up and running and better than ever. There is a Winter Carnival scheduled for Feb. 16 with many events including a hockey game, skills competition and refreshments. Check the Five Islands Rink on Facebook for times and details.
