Truro man jailed for breaking water sprinkler in jail cell

TRURO – A Truro man convicted of damaging a sprinkler in a town jail cell has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Michael James Wambolt, 40, of 8 Willow Lane, Apt. 10, also pled guilty to breaching his probation terms by consuming alcohol or another intoxicating substance.

In addition to the custody time, Wambolt was fined $200 and must serve 12 months probation after his release.

During that period, he must not enter establishments where alcohol is sold, must be assessed for alcohol consumption and be assessed for mental health/psychological/psychiatric counselling.

Wambolt must further successfully take counselling for life skills and career/educational advancement.
