ST. JEROME, Que. – The Truro Bearcats look to bounce back from their first loss at the Fred Page Cup when they meet the Carleton Place Canadians Friday at 5 p.m.

The Bearcats enter the contest after a 7-6 overtime loss to the host St. Jerome Panthers on Thursday night at the Eastern Canadian junior A hockey championship.
Truro sits in second place in the standings with three points. They picked up two points for an overtime win on Wednesday against Granby and earned a single point in Thursday’s OT loss.
Granby meets St. Jerome on Friday at 8:30 p.m. to conclude round-robin play.
The top team will earn a bye to Sunday’s final, while the second- and third-place teams will play in a semifinal on Saturday.
Scoring for Truro on Thursday were Phil Fife, with two goals, Mitchell Robillard, Jordan McNaugton, Denver Lynds and Colby Lanceleve.
Samuel Aquin netted the OT winner for St. Jerome at 3:58. Pier-Olivier Grand-Maison notched a hat trick for the host team, while Jonathan Charbonneau added a pair and Gary Horic a single marker.
The Bearcats scored once on four power-play opportunities, while the Panthers also capitalized once on its four power-play chances.
Truro’s Chris Festarini faced 34 shots in goal, while Saint-Jerome’s goaltending combination of Philippe Gingras and Marc-Antoine Gervais faced 31 shots.
