Collision on Trans-Canada near Saltsprings under investigation

SALT SPRINGS – A 48-year-old woman was struck by a pickup truck carrying a trailer late Tuesday morning near Exit 19 on Trans Canada Highway 104.

Clothes could be seen on the side of the highway near Exit 19 where a woman was struck by the pictured truck. She was taken to the Aberdeen Hospital with serious injuries. HEATHER BRIMICOMBE – THE NEWS

The investigation into the vehicle-pedestrian collision near Salt Springs continues to cause detours as the RCMP continue to investigate.  

The woman is from the Limerock area and was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital with serious injuries. Police had no further update on her condition. The driver of the truck has no injuries being reported by police.

The collision happened at 11:35 a.m., with RCMP responding shortly after. The Eastern Traffic Services collision reconstructionist was called to investigate further.
